Intern - Southern California Land Protection

Pasadena, CA
TPL’s California land protection team is looking for a dynamic and dedicated, early career conservationist to assist us in permanently protecting lands to ensure climate resilient communities and ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and improve equitable access to parks and open space. Through this work, TPL will help deliver cleaner air and water, healthier communities, equitable and connected neighborhoods, and a more resilient and livable environment for all.

POSITION SUMMARY
The California land protection intern is a support position helping TPL Project Managers and legal staff deliver the organization’s mission of conserving land for people through research on a variety of legal topics.

Areas such as split mineral estates, Tribal law, conservation real estate, and quiet title action will all be covered through this internship. Research on these topics and others
will assist TPL to protect climate-resilient lands and waters that support wildlife habitat, recreational access, working lands (farms and ranches), water resources, and historical and Indigenous cultural values, as well as other open space and environmentally important lands. In addition, the selected candidate will receive significant exposure to TPL land protection and legal staff, on the ground conservation real estate training, and the variety of conservation tools deployed to successfully promote, advance and close transactions.

This internship will be remotely located and is expected to run from January-April.
This is an hourly, part time (10-15 hours a week) position and will pay between $17-$20/hour.
