Donor Relations Associate - Flexible Location/Hybrid Work Model

Position summary:

The Donor Relations Associate is a key member of the Donor Relations and Stewardship team, which is part of the larger Philanthropy Programs group within the Philanthropy Department. The Donor Relations Associate is responsible for delivering customized donor-centric communication pieces to facilitate meaningful, lifelong relationships with donors. This position is focused on gift acknowledgment and donor services across the country.

Day-to-day work will involve working in our Customer Relationship Management system to personalize acknowledgment letters and other communication pieces, and coordinating with multiple offices across the country to ensure TPL donors are properly recognized for their charitable gifts. Building relationships and positive rapport with internal and external stakeholders is critical to the success of the Donor Relations and Stewardship program overall.
           

Performance Requirements:
 
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Trust for Public Land
  • Manage program for non-customized gift acknowledgments. Includes working with mail vendor to create a system of timely outsourced letters and the writing/editing of high-touch personalized letters in-house
  • Work with the Donor Relations Coordinator to coordinate customized acknowledgments
  • Participate in ensuring acknowledgment program and processes are sustainable and efficient
  • Manage department inventories, order supplies as needed
  • Approach job functions and teammates with the flexibility to rapidly adjust and to address competing priorities
  • Field state and regional staff inquiries regarding gift acknowledgments
  • Other special donor relations projects as needed

Qualifications:
  • College or Associates degree preferred and/or minimum 2-5 years of administrative support experience or equivalent
  • Experience working in a non-profit fundraising or membership capacity strongly preferred

Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Pre-hire proficiency required in Microsoft Windows, Office (particularly Excel) PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
  • Adept at writing compelling communication materials
  • Experience in database report software strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working with outside vendors
  • Ability to multi-task while working under pressure and meeting deadlines promptly
  • Position requires a high degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy, and sensitivity to highly confidential information


Compensation

As a full-time non-exempt employee, you will be eligible for Trust for Public Land’s comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, three weeks of vacation annually plus more than ten holidays, personal and volunteer days, paid winter break, and a 403(b) retirement plan currently with a company match up to 5.5%. We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience; the range for this position is $24.04/hr-$28.85 ($50,000-$60,000 annualized).
