Sr. Manager, Marketing Planning & Operations - Location Flexible

The Sr. Manager, Marketing Planning & Operations is a strategic leader within the Marketing, Communications and Annual Giving Department, who thrives at driving the operations of a dynamic, high performing team. They understand how to create efficient business processes, to utilize technology to help remote teams be more coordinated and are able to operationalize big ideas into actionable plans. They are strategic, self-motivated to advance the things that matter most for the organization and has great attention to detail. The Sr. Manager, Marketing Planning and Operations will be responsible for managing the department’s portfolio of priorities that span multiple offices, departments and programs. They manage a Sr Project Manager and they are a member of the Marketing, Communications & Annual Giving Leadership Team and report to the SVP, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.

The Sr. Manager will work with the SVP, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer and the Marketing, Communications & Annual Giving Leadership Team to establish and track against the priorities, goals and success factors for the department. They will manage the progress of the department’s portfolio of priorities integrates new priorities and tracks against quarterly KPIs, and develops action plans with input from key stakeholders and team members to meet those goals. They The Sr. Manager works with the CMCO to oversee and create the department budget, and supports department directors with monitoring budgets, contracts and RFPs with external agencies and freelancers. The Sr. Manager brings experience in marketing and communications to identify process improvements, automations and opportunities to streamline marketing operations within the department and across the organization.

This position can be located near any of TPL's 30 offices across the country.

    • Lead all planning and operations for the department.
    • Support department budget managers with budgeting, contracts and invoices allocation; supports CMCO with overall department financials.  
    • Manage all systems and tools critical for team success, including Asana, Sharepoint, intranet site and more.
    • Operationalize department norms and identify areas for  improvement.
    • Develop and track against a comprehensive marketing calendar.
    • Interface with other departments to drive alignment with marketing processes and planning.
    • Support department and project leaders with project management, driving agendas, taking notes and ensuring follow-ups are clear and communicated effectively.
    • 7-10 years in a marketing and communications operations role.
    • Experience managing department financials, reporting and KPIs monitoring.  
    • Experiencing managing complex teams with project management tools and processes
    • Strategic problem solver with a self-starter attitude.
    • Collaborative and pragmatic with a proven ability to bring teams together.
    • Experience working across matrixed organizations to drive desired outcomes.

We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience; the slary range for this position is 85,000-105,000  annually.
