Campaign Coordinator - 10-Minute Walk

Position Summary:
The 10 Minute Walk Campaign Coordinator is a key member of campaign team and will help drive the success of our programmatic work. Reporting jointly to the Associate Director and Senior Advisor, and providing support across the growing campaign team, the Campaign Coordinator will ensure the smooth functioning of the campaign’s day-to-day operations, with a specific focus on back-end logistics, team project management, and providing administrative support to the Director and Associate Director. A successful candidate will be organized, comfortable managing up and helping to drive decision-making, and ideally have a background or demonstrated interest in city planning and policy, parks, or resilience.
Systems Administration and Project Management (60%)
  • Project manage key elements of the campaign, especially work plans, timeline development, and team deliverables and deadlines.
  • Develop agendas and write-ups to help drive team decision-making such as summaries of conference opportunities,
  • Help to implement and maintain campaign tracking system, including but not limited to current campaign cities and mayoral staff, city policy targets, partner organizations, and more.
  • Provide administrative support to the campaign team, especially the Director and Associate Director in scheduling meetings, tracking and arranging public engagements and team travel, and tracking and filing expenses.
  • Track monthly campaign budget against grant funds and finance department reporting, including logging and submitting all campaign invoices for goods, services, and consultants.
Program and Communications Support (40%)
  • Work closely with Director and Associate Director on managing campaign communications, including but not limited to helping manage digital channels, drafting correspondence and presentations, and providing support on the development of other public-facing campaign materials.
  • Update and help maintain 10minutewalk.org website, including adding new content and fielding general inquiries.
  • Manage the campaign team general inbox, fielding inquiries from cities and partners and logging them into the campaign tracking system.
  • Develop and distribute internal communications about the campaign, including reports, intranet posts, and memos.
  • At the direction of the Senior Advisory, support in the implementation of 10 Minute Walk Campaign Partnership fund with other members of the 10MW Campaign team including administrative duties, helping run application and selection processes, and contracting and reporting for TPL offices and external community-based organizations.
  • Undertake campaign research as assigned, including but not limited to researching the work of partner organizations and potential grantees, and citywide parks and greenspace efforts.  
  • Assist with the development of internal campaign updates and materials, including intranet posts, newsletters, emails, and guidance for Trust for Public Land staff. 
  • Serve as a key point of contact for staff across the organization seeking up-to-date information on all campaign activities.
  • 3+ years work experience in an office environment, ideally in a nonprofit, political, or city government setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience writing and proofreading for others required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Word and PowerPoint), Adobe, and Internet research techniques for word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, and presentations required. Proficiency with complex databases a plus.
  • Ability to use good judgment and make recommendations in resolving problems.
  • A proven history of working independently and managing time and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, promptness, and dependability.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, departments, and organizations to advance projects and strategies.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasionally travel for meetings and conferences.
  • Appreciation of the “land for people” mission of The Trust for Public Land and the ability to advance that mission effectively and with integrity, credibility, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to use good judgment, take initiative, prioritize, and problem solve.
