Marketing Manager - East Division

The Marketing Manager, East Division, provides marketing partnership and project management for the East Division of The Trust for Public Land. Works closely with the National Director of Marketing and other leaders in the marketing department to accomplish national and local marketing objectives.
Essential functions:
Field Partnership
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and programs to support the national and local marketing objectives in The Trust for Public Land’s East Division.
  • Meet regularly with and advise State & Philanthropy Directors to understand marketing objectives and recommend appropriate marketing/communication plans and tactics. Support Philanthropy’s national and field office efforts to raise funds.
  • Help local offices see how their work supports national communication objectives
  • Guide annual marketing planning process (to be created) with state directors and philanthropy directors
  • Write creative briefs that accurately capture strategy and considerations
  • Manage the local execution of national marketing campaigns.
Internal Collaboration /Project Management
  • Work closely with internal marketing team including content, digital, PR, and design to develop measurable plans to drive stakeholder goals.
  • Oversee workflow and budget areas across all assigned states.
  • Project management: Manage the schedule, assets, approvals for all marketing deliverables in region
  • Manage the production of state-focused brochures, invitations, and publications.
  • Contribute ideas and content to TPL’s website, social media, newsletter and publications.
Other responsibilities:
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, or strongly related field.
  • 5+ years of generalist marketing experience
  • Proven marketing skills, with knowledge of donor development, understanding target audiences and the ability to present and persuade.
  • Demonstrated experience working with field offices and an ability to maintain national focus despite being located in regional office
  • Ability to develop marketing plans and collaborative strategies.
  • Excellent client relationship and project management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Knowledge of and ability to plan and guide promotional activities including print, online, electronic media, events, and direct mail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including writing, editing and public speaking.
