Program Coordinator: NYC Playgrounds Program

Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the tracking and coordination of specific aspects of a program that creates new community playgrounds in schoolyards in New York City neighborhoods.  A special feature of this program is extensive involvement by a local school and community in the design and operation of the playgrounds.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
School/Community Engagement Coordination:  Assist Program Manager and Program Coordinator in scheduling meetings and corresponding with schools and community groups engaged in our participatory design program.
 
Design and Construction Liaison:  Assist Program Director with construction bidding process, including preparing necessary paperwork, organizing billing, communicating with landscape architect, contractors and government officials to ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner. 
 
Fundraising, Marketing:  Assist Program Director and Development and Public Relations regional staff to prepare letters and summaries for public relations or funding purposes.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. 
 
A minimum of two years full-time work experience in areas an office setting is required.
 
The optimal candidate will have a proven record and excellent skills in problem solving, written and oral communication, attention to detail and follow-through, and ability to manage and track multiple projects at different stages of progress.
 
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and PhotoShop.
