Annual Giving & Donor Relations Associate

The Annual Giving & Donor Relations Associate is an essential member of the Philanthropy team focusing on gift acknowledgment and donor relations.  The Associate also assists with the direct mail program and other department activities.  This position reports to the Director of Annual Giving.

Gift Acknowledgements
  • Manages acknowledgment program: includes working with mail vendor to create a system of timely outsourced letters and the writing/editing of high-touch personalized letters in-house. 
  • Evaluates efficiency of acknowledgment program and processes
  • Manages department inventories, orders supplies as needed.
 
Donor Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Annual Giving department, answers donor relations phone line.  
  • Oversees donor relations email account and responds to donor requests, questions and concerns.
  • Fields state and regional inquiries regarding gift acknowledgment, direct mail, and online solicitations. 
 
Direct Mail
  • Assists with direct mail content review, editing and production oversight. 
  • Other special annual giving projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of administrative/customer support experience or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a non-profit fundraising or membership capacity strongly preferred.
  • High-level proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard office tools;
  • Experience in database report software such as Crystal or Business Objects a plus
  • Ability to multi-task while working under pressure and meeting deadlines promptly
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Position requires a high degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy, and sensitivity to highly confidential information.
